The HR Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our initiatives and stakeholders. The role manages all functions of HR and is critical in executing people initiatives, providing great internal support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead all HR activities, processes and practices resulting in identifying best practices and operational process improvements
  • Take initiative to implement programs, policies and service delivery; implementation of organizational & development requirements to drive a positive, engaging, motivating culture in-line with agency strategy
  • Ensure an optimal employee experience at every touch-point in the employee life-cycle
  • Identify and implement practices to improve people and cultural management, ensuring fairness, equity, diversity, inclusion and respect
  • Manage Human Resources and talent acquisition strategies to attract, motivate, develop and retain top talent
  • Implement, evaluate and maintain HR policies, processes, practices, strategic directions, HR systems & databases
  • Implement, manage and facilitate training and development initiatives
  • Provide consultation, support and coaching on employee relations, performance improvement and employee disciplinary issues to employees and managers, including coaching, negotiation, mediation and investigation
  • Responsible for job analysis and workforce planning needs and strategies, in collaboration with the management team
  • Produce work plans and analyze HR metrics for efficiency planning

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or a related field
  • CHRP/CHRL designation an asset
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in direct Human Resources functions in a medium to large size organization
  • Experience and knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, The Ontario Human Rights Code and other related legislations are required
  • Experience in delivering unique employee experience
  • Ability to champion initiatives and experience in change management
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong inter-personal skills and proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Solid understanding of not-for-profit sector, its stakeholders, community programs and funding procedures
  • Proficient at developing quality reports and deliverables using MS office: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
