Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Edmonton-based company to hire an experienced HVAC Field Technician on full time permanent basis. 

The HVAC Field Technician provides HVAC equipment and systems support such as programming, starting and commissioning while also being the vital point of contact between the customer and company operations. This role is also fully responsible for organizing the customer support jobs by planning service requirements, requesting materials and coordinating site visits.

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn, understand and successfully apply manufacture-specific programs and software as they apply HVAC related controls, equipment, systems, and technologies
  • Troubleshoot systems and equipment, utilizing instruments and computer programs when needed
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service while interacting with our clientele, contractors, engineers, facility staff and occupants
  • Document project work progress including the details of hardware and software installations
  • Use computers and programs with the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office 365
  • Participate fully in safety programs and initiatives: follow all safety guidelines, rules, and requirements
  • Arrive at work, at meetings, and at job sites fit for duty and on-time
  • Complete work in an organized, cooperative, and timely manner while upholding our standard of excellence as it pertains to quality of service
  • Speak and write fluently for technical and non-technical applications in the English language
  • Provide a high degree of workmanship that will meet or exceed our contractual obligations and expectations of our customers

Qualifications: 
Skill Set
  • A post-secondary education in instrumentation technology or automation or equivalent experience with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Post-secondary training or experience with the HVAC communications protocol (BMS) and integration of third-party equipment. An understanding of the LonWorks and BACnet communication protocols is an asset
  • Highly motivated, driven by a need to seek solutions and solve problems, and willing to learn and take on new challenges
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of completing deliverables on time in fast-paced environments
  • Capacity to work independently or as part of a larger team
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and programs such as Word and Excel

Schedule:
  • Eight (8) hour workday
  • Monday to Friday
  • Occasional weekends and after hours with overtime pay

Work Locations: 
  • Primarily on-Site (new-construction sites, or other job sites)

Travel Requirements:
  • A valid Alberta driver’s license
  • A reliable and respectable vehicle for business use
  • Occasional travel within Western Canada and the United States
  • A valid Canadian Passport
