Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Prince George, BC-based company to hire an experienced Electrical Engineer on full time permanent basis. The role will require relocation and relocation assistance would be provided! Working with the construction team through commissioning, the Electrical Engineer (EE) will be responsible to design, develop and control the electrical systems for the  facility in Prince George. Following construction and commissioning the EPE will remain on site as the operations EPE, while also contributing to the development of company's enterprise-wide capabilities and infrastructure.

  • Provides electrical engineering technical support in the field during construction, mechanical completion and commissioning, then transitions to to Operations during commissioning
  • Understands and translates business requirements into effective project execution and construction strategies and plans, proactively evaluating and managing risk through all phases of the project
  • Selects, engages, and works with external electrical engineering consultants and contractors
  • Seeks cost effective engineering solutions while maintaining compliance with Code, Regulatory, Environmental and company's specifications
  • Collaborates with the Project and Operations Teams, and others within the organization to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of assigned projects
  • Reviews, approves, and oversees the safekeeping of all electrical engineering documents
  • Supports company's by participating in the development of SOWs for RFP packages, as well as the technical and commercial bid evaluations process

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Significant experience managing schedules and coordinating activities between engineering team/consultant, field execution teams, commissioning teams and code inspectors
  • Demonstrated expertise with HV, MV and LV electrical design including VFD, MCC, motors, transformers, UPS and E-House design
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Control Systems, DCS, networking and instrumentation design
  • Experience with power system design including preparation of coordination, short circuit, motor starting and arc flash studies

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, registered or eligible for P. Eng registration, or Senior Electronic Engineering Technician with significant relevant experience
