If you are a talented and experienced Product Owner or Product Manager, Aplin has the right opportunity for you!  Our client, an award-winning international eCommerce business, has partnered with Aplin to grow their team in Edmonton, Alberta.

In this hybrid role, acting as the point person on the agile team, you will use your high-level perspective to define goals and ensure the team maintains a cohesive vision, despite the flexible and fast-paced nature of product development. The product owner will partner across teams to deliver functionality and meet business objectives.

  • Collaborate with a team of designers, writers, developers, quality assurance analysts and other subject matter experts. Build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Develop clear user stories, detailed feature specifications, tasks, acceptance criteria and timelines
  • Prioritize projects and ensure the most important work is being delivered
  • Manage project scope and business requirements changes
  • Develop and maintain the product backlog with a focus on business results
  • Advocate for the product, offer insights, answer questions, and provide clarifications to ensure the vision is being executed
  • Create valuable website products and features for our online users
  • Act as a key contributor to product design and the overall user experience
  • Communicate project status updates to all key stakeholders
  • Utilize project management software and ensure all required updates are documented effectively
  • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Marketing, Design, Project Management, Business Analysis, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Project Manager, Digital Marketing, or Project Coordinator role
  • Experience working in an eCommerce, digital marketing, or SaaS business would be an asset
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) certifications would be an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of Agile best practices
  • Experience with backlog management, prioritization, and defect tracking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong facilitation, organizing, and time management skills
  • Ability to utilize project management software
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) practices would be an asset
