Aplin has partnered up with a Calgary-based oil and gas company that is engaged in the business of acquiring, developing, and holding interests in petroleum and natural gas properties and assets. This very successful and growing organization is looking to add a Senior Production Accountant to their Calgary head office team, reporting to Manager, Production Accounting.

This role is an active and integral position within the Production Accounting team and is primarily responsible for the full cycle production accounting of properties in Alberta. Other duties will include analysis of facility charges, royalties and addressing queries from partners and the joint venture accounting team on these properties.

Responsibilities:
  • Full Cycle Production Accounting:
    • Alberta Properties
    • Set up of master data including wells, market masters, facility charges & royalties
    • Communication with operations on monthly volumes and changes
    • Analysis of allocations, facility charges, royalties and financial entries
    • Reconciliation of revenue receivables
  • Preparing financial entries into Qbyte FM
  • Support and assist junior staff
  • Review of non-crown royalties and addressing owner queries
  • Review of facility charges and addressing joint venture changes
  • Review and entry of 3rd party fees on assigned properties
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years of applicable work experience
  • Business Degree and/or CAPPA - Very strong knowledge of Metrix, Qbyte FM, Optix and Production Manager
  • Strong experience in Excel including pivot tables and lookup formulas
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, while also working within a team environment
  • Reliable and organized with the ability to handle a high-volume desk
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
