If you are a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager, Aplin has the right opportunity for you!  Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to grow their team in the Vancouver or Calgary area with this 12-month contract opportunity. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical subject area
  • PMP/Prince2 certification (preferred)
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, Certified Scrum Master (preferred), SAFe certified
  • 10+ years of experience leading IT projects in a large complex corporate environment
  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager role leading a software engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in data management related projects (Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Master Data Management, Analytics, Data Pipelines, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience with PowerBI and Cloud Computing (Azure)
  • Skilled in the use of Project Management tools (traditional and Agile) and Cost Management Systems
  • Skilled in Agile project execution and use of Azure DevOps or similar tool
  • Practical experience running projects greater than $5M
  • Proven management and team leadership abilities
  • Fluency in Spanish is considered an asset
  • Intake of new ideas, maturing opportunities, and managing implementations of Power BI solutions as products
  • Managing resources assigned to BI initiatives and effectively guiding Business Analysts and Power BI developers
  • Running, maintaining and improving BI practices using a data centric approach
  • Ensuring that a Project Lifecycle is completed based on the current PMO policies and framework as defined in the PMO website
  • Managing the projects from initiation to closure with a committed goal of delivering on time, on budget, scope complete with a high level of quality and business satisfaction
  • Working with Operations and Departmental managers to request and obtain required resources to meet deliverables
  • Handling all funds spent in relation to the project, this includes maintaining a detailed current view of budget, actuals and forecast numbers
  • Providing transparency into project health through published schedules, regular status reporting, and current budget and forecasts
  • Handling vendor relationships, holding vendors accountable for delivery of contracted services, managing financial billing and contracting with vendors
  • Managing and documenting any scope changes impacting schedule, budget or quality
  • Monitoring project team timesheet reporting to ensure proper project accounting
  • Identifying, resolving and raising any issues and risks as required
