Join a top employer and advance your career. Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to hire a Payroll Administrator based in Edmonton. This is a permanent position based in Southeast Edmonton.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Maintains expert knowledge of payroll system and prevailing payroll/legislative practices
  • Recommends and implements improvements to payroll system and services
  • Meets payroll processing deadlines by ensuring that internal processes are effective and efficient
  • Inputs data and runs processing activities on regular payroll cycle
  • Maintains a service oriented approach to working with management, colleagues and when responding to employee inquiries
  •  Ensures that all payroll processing transactions are accurate and are consistent with Company guidelines and legislative requirements
  • Identifies errors and provides solutions/recommendations as required
  • Liaises with third party payroll vendor(s) regarding payroll and reporting delivery, and reviews performance and services as required
  •  Continually reviews payroll systems for efficiency and accuracy, and recommends system improvements
  • Provides training and direction to other Payroll personnel
  • Completes project work as assigned
  • Provides workforce reports, and develops solutions for new reporting requirements
  • Works closely with other departments as required to provide payroll
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma - additional formal payroll training is an asset
  • 3 years payroll administration experience
  • Strong working knowledge of standard payroll concepts, practices and procedures
  • Familiarity with hourly and salaried payroll practices, as well as third party payroll systems (UKG experience is an asset)
  • Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and decision making skills
  • Self motivated and able to work under general supervision
  • Customer focused & Proficiency with Microsoft applications-Word, Excel, Outlook and payroll software
