Reporting to the Manager, Business applications, you will be responsible for assisting in the leadership in both IT and the business units to ensure applications meet business requirements, that development is focused on business requirements and usability. You will be involved in leading and coordinating the assignment of tasks to functional support resources, while continuing to maintain a hands-on approach to support and deliver solutions for functional systems. This is a hybrid Full-time permanent opportunity.

  • Assist the Manager, Business Applications to provide planning, prioritizing, forecasting, and reporting as well as the delivery of requirements pertaining to the workload for the group. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members
  • Support the facilitation of communication and requirements gathering by business unit and functional analyst to enable the prioritization of new requirements
  • Coordinate daily discussion with both functional and technical resources to collect status updates and promote priority assignment to on-going work. Coordinate tasks with functional analysts to ensure work is delivered in priority sequence, and IT processes are followed
  • Host business lead discussions
  • Maintain support responsibilities of functional area of expertise in either SAP or D365-FO by:
    • Acting as primary point of contact and subject matter expert for their module and integrated systems on projects and system support; liaise between users, IT, and 3rd parties in order to effectively prioritize and execute projects and system support based on leading practice software project release and delivery methodologies. Support all phases of a project life cycle including analysis, design, configuration, testing, deployment, post-production support/maintenance, documentation, and end-user training
    • Developing functional specifications that accurately translate business requirements into system configuration and/or process changes and ensure the design will meet business requirements throughout the life cycle of a change. Provide Functional Specifications to Technical team for any customized developments
    • Working with the Business Analyst to identify business process improvements and organizational changes within a project. Assist with fit-gap analysis against existing configuration base-line. Collaborate with other functional analysts on the detail solution design to ensure cross-functional impacts are addressed and impact is recognized and addressed. Provide support to the Business Analyst and SMEs to ensure user acceptance test scripts are documented and updated as well as training material accurately reflects changes
    • Recommending plans for continued process improvements, system enhancements and new applications to support business strategies and operational needs
    • Liaising with the development, integration, and reporting specialists to implement a solution that will meet business requirements within time and cost constraints
    • Coordinating all units testing ensuring application configuration changes work as designed in concert with application developments and reports. Maintain configuration documentation for their module(s). Establish traceability between requirements and application solution design
    • Participating directly in tier 3 application support activities (after Tier 1: Service Desk and Tier 2: AOE/Business) including incident management, assessment and delivery of application upgrades and patches
    • Working with external/internal configuration specialists as required on larger, more complex projects
  • Degree/Diploma in Computer Science (or equivalent training and experience) supplemented by experience in retail business
  • Processes 10+ year of relevant IT experience with 7 - 9 years’ in related application areas
  • Proficient in a primary application (SAP or D365-FO). Significant experience in a secondary application (SAP or D365-FO). Familiarity with integration to other systems/applications
  • In-depth business process knowledge. Understand current best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor other members
  • Hands on experience writing step by step process documentation
  • Able to explain concepts and update business and management resources for status
  • Solid understanding of corporate goals and objectives and a working knowledge of the information technology within the assigned business unit; able to recognize problems and help implement solutions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills demonstrating an ability to build relationships in the business
