Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a downtown Edmonton-based company to hire a full-time Project Engineer for their Roadways Transportation division. You must have experience engaging with clients directly in providing innovative design solutions in the transportation sector. 
 
Responsibilities: 
You will lead with a forward-thinking approach that promotes a team environment to improve overall group performance and client service. You will provide technical expertise and project management on transportation projects for public and private sector clients with a focus on highways, roads, and transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Providing a leadership role in the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection
  • Advancing projects through the proposal, concept, design, and construction phases; working with existing clients; and helping to develop new clients
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules
  • Assisting as a contact for project-related client communications
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major transportation projects
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices
Qualifications: 
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution; or a Civil Engineering Diploma from an accredited technical institution
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, or a C.E.T. with ASET
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients with a focus on the Transportation sector
  • 5+ years working on projects with Alberta Transportation
  • Project Management or Assistant Project Management experience is a strong asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta
