David Aplin, CEO

Dave earned his Professional Engineering degree from the University of Toronto, his M.B.A. from York University and after several years in the private sector, founded David Aplin Recruiting in 1975. Serving as Chairman and CEO, Dave oversees the strategic direction of the company and all acquisitions. Dave is an active member of the community and is a past member of several local cultural boards.

Jeff Aplin, President

Jeff leads our Corporate Services Group, after spending several years as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting specializing in strategy and operations. He has an MBA from the University of Calgary and holds the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation. Jeff is an active member of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO).

Grace Aplin, Secretary/Treasurer

Grace is a co-founder of David Aplin Recruiting and a member of the Executive Committee. She is a graduate of both the University of Toronto and the University of Alberta, holding a B.A. in Psychology/English and a Master's degree in Educational Administration.

Mike Corbett, Executive VP

Mike is the Senior Vice President of David Aplin Recruiting and leads the sales and branch operations for the firm. Mike has 23 years of sales and sales management experience plus over 11 years of experience in the recruitment industry.

Tom Lieu, CFO

Tom is responsible for financial reporting and oversees all Accounting functions across the company. A CMA with over 11 years' experience in Accounting and Finance, Tom is an accounting systems implementation specialist and a member of the Edmonton chapter of Financial Executives International.

Chris Fong, VP – Calgary Region

Chris is Vice President of our Calgary Region. He has a B.Comm from the University of Calgary coupled with over 18 years of Management, Sales, and Recruitment experience within the Calgary market.  Chris is an avid volunteer in the Calgary community and recently completed serving in his third year as the Hi-Tech Sector Co-Chair of Calgary's United Way campaign.

Greg Penney, VP – Edmonton Region

In addition to his role as Vice President for the Edmonton region, Greg focuses on senior technical, operations, and executive management searches. For the past 21 years, Greg has specialized at providing recruiting services to Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical facilities, and Oil & Gas equipment manufacturers. Greg holds a BA from the University of Alberta.

Holly Hetherington, VP – Aplin Executive

Holly is Vice President of our national Aplin Executive division and Regional Leader of Executive Source Partners in Saskatchewan. She has spent over 20 years in the executive search business in both Saskatchewan and Alberta, though her assignments have taken her from coast to coast. Today, Holly is looked upon as one of Saskatchewan’s experts on Labour Market matters.

Mark Shayna, VP – Winnipeg Region

Mark is Vice President of our Winnipeg office and specializes in the recruitment of senior Human Resource professionals in Manitoba. A B.Comm. graduate of the University of Manitoba, Mark has 20 years of sales management experience and 9 years of recruiting experience with David Aplin.

Grant Robinson, VP – GTA

Grant is Vice President of our downtown Toronto office which specializes in the placement of Accounting & Finance professionals throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Grant possesses 12 years' experience within specialized staffing as a senior professional leader and has a proven passion for building strong teams and developing long term strategic relationships at the C-Suite level.

James Baker, VP – National Capital Region

James manages our Ottawa office and also focuses on placing mid and senior level Accounting & Finance professionals with top-tier organizations. He is an asset to our Ottawa team with over seven years of experience in the industry as a top performing recruiter and recruitment manager.

Amy Reid, VP – Atlantic Canada

Amy leads our Halifax team as Vice President of the Atlantic Region. In addition to managing our Atlantic business, Amy dedicates her time providing Engineering & Technical payroll and recruitment services to clients within the local oil & gas and construction sectors. With a B.Comm in Human Resource Management from Saint Mary's University, Amy offers over twelve years of diversified experience within the HR and recruitment fields.
